The Wedding pups were on the move again this past week and a half!!! Their days are now spent out in the yard under the apple trees in their big X-pens so they can learn how to be DOGS!!! I move them and their pen around numerous times each day following the shade so they get lots of free time play where they ram around the yard destroying the flowers and getting into EVERYTHING!! Now they are experiencing not only shade and sunshine, but sometimes a little rain (not enough though!), lots of cars, motorcycles, tractors, all the big dogs, lawnmowers etc…… LIFE!!! Every day I take them on their ‘walk abouts” so I can wear them out and watch them to see how their personalities are coming along. I note things like how adventurous, confident and courageous they are along with how long their attention span is. I also note how much time they spend in my lap enjoying tummy rubs!! They are just such happy go lucky little galoots and soooo much fun at this age!!!!

Go Go continues to enjoy playing with them but she no longer nurses them which is fine as they are eating their puppy mush really well and continue to nearly double in size each week. Their teeth are coming in full force and they are sharpening them on anything and everything!! So far all teeth look good but the vet will make the final call on that when they go in for their final vet check which is scheduled for August 7th. A rather intensive poking and prodding goes on with eyes, ears, lungs, hearts, teeth and, for the boys, testicles getting checked!!! A LONG checklist for each pup, is filled out so that every possible health check has been done and documented for you and your vet to be aware of. A copy is included with all other health documents for each puppy. They get their first puppy shot (OUCH!), wormed AGAIN (yuck!), and microchipped for permanent identification (BIG OUCH!!) Considering the size of the microchip needle, it is pretty impressive how well our little darlings take it!!! No crying!!! It helps that we save the microchipping for last and quickly give them lots of hugs and kisses. They like going to the vet because everyone takes their turn holding and playing with them so they get lots of attention and treats.

Picture taking at this age is SUCH an adventure!!! It is the first time I take the puppies away from each other, put them in a strange environment ALONE and see what they do while I take pictures of them!! It is VERY telling and is one of the tools I use to note the differences in personalities that each puppy is developing.

I NOW pronounce you – PUPPY and Family!!! You may KISS your Puppy!!

Oh what fun the little Wedding Litter pups are now!! They can hop and skip and jump and even do some pretty significant laps around their new digs!!! Yes, they got moved to the garage and into the puppy pen that is TWICE the size of the whelping box!! They have really begun to play with each other which means one of them is usually waiting to pounce on whom ever is doing the laps and knock them down for a 10 second wrestling match, followed by ear and tail biting, and then a few tongue licks and then……a nap! What a life!!

They have doubled in size and weight again due to Momma GoGo’s tremendous milk production and puppy mush. What a mess! Thank goodness Go Go cleans them up! GoGo is spending a little less time each day with them – mostly because the playpen is getting crowded!! she is getting kind of sick of them which is normal behavior but she always stays close where she can watch them but they can’t be pestering her constantly.

Part of the reason, Go Go is getting sick of them is because their teeth are starting to come in!! OUCH!!! Will see how they turn out but teeth are a big deal so they need to be nice!!! Another annoying toe nail trim for the puppies – a big thank you from Go Go for that service!

At 4 Weeks old, we are half way to going home day!! I think it is time to meet the members of the WEDDING party!!
