Another HUGE week for the Soda Pups!!!   So many changes!!   This week they got moved to the BIG puppy play pen where they have lots of trees, rocks and roam.  Plus they share a fence line with all of their adult relatives and are leaning how to be a big dog by watching what big dogs do all day (which is sleep- so not really all that exciting!)  That meant they had to say goodbye to their momma Ayana though.  

They had their final vet visit, where teeth, hearts, lungs, bellybuttons, and testicles (where appropriate) are all examined and noted.   They are also microchipped, have their first puppy vaccinations, wormed and weighed.   My vet fills out a sheet with every body part noted as normal or not and why so that you and your vet can keep an eye on them in the future.  You will receive a copy of this in your ‘going home packet’.

The Grandma June walks continue a couple of times a day so that I can keep watching them to see who they are becoming!!  So much fun being the ‘pied piper of puppies’!   Here’s who the ‘PUP POPS’ are now:

PUP POPS!!!!   Life could not be better for the Soda Pups.  They are running, hopping, skipping, jumping and regularly attacking each other.   No more accidental falling, the Soda’s have “Maxed their Lives” and are ‘Asking for More’!!!  They love being outside experiencing all that is “Good for Life”!!!   The raspberry patch makes for fantastic hide and seek, the original old outhouse complete with holly hocks makes for great ring-around-the-rosey and ambush, and the giant flower patches are their dream hunting grounds -soooo many good smells in there!!

The Grandma June Walkabouts have begun where they get to go on adventures around the BIG 2-3 acre lawn experiencing all kinds of wonderful things.   I walk - they follow.   They enjoy all the new sights and smells and I get to watch them become their own unique little selves.  It is surprising, insightful, and down right fun to watch how each pup reacts to different sights and sounds - some very unexpected and some pretty typical of being outside in the country.    Each pup reacts in their own way, each pup has a different level of courage and confidence, and almost every day they change!!!   The one thing I ALWAYS teach them, is that if they are afraid they should come to me, so that they learn that humans are their salvation and best protectors.  This will come in VERY handy later!!!

Litter box training is pretty complete - they never EVER go potty in their bed.   Weaning is complete - Ayana love, Love, LOVES her puppies, and thoroughly enjoys playing with them, but NOT feeding them.   The pups eat with true conviction and expertise!!!  No more messing around or getting messy- eating is serious business and they are good at it.  Doubled in size again!!!

Pepsi’s dermoid sinus removal surgery went GREAT.  She just has a couple of stitches that are healing beautifully.  Another week or two when her shaved hair grows back, you will never know anything happened.   Grandma insisted on another toenail trim for all as usual!!
