IN LOVING MEMORY OF KKR RELIQUERIE
Born: March 25, 2002
Died: August 20, 2006

"When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me.
I want no rites in a gloom filled room, why cry for a soul set free.
Miss me a little, but not for long and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared, miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take and each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan, a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know.
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss me, but let me go."

Relic belonged to my eldest son, Jarod. Her full name, Reliquerie, means 'the place where you keep your treasures or most valued possessions' - which perfectly summed up their relationship. She moved with him to Colorado after college, grew up in the art gallery in Canon City and then stayed with me when he became a city slicker! The plan was to spay her shortly after her pups were weaned, and she was to join her boy, now in Montana, to enjoy her life at his side again. She died in my arms after giving birth to her fourteen pups via an emergency C-section. Her loss to my son and myself is too deep for tears. You could NOT have asked for a better friend. We will love her and miss her always.
